Rare and highly elegant “9000” modular sofa designed by Tito Agnoli for the renowned Italian manufacturer Arflex, produced in Italy in 1969.
This sophisticated modular seating system is upholstered in a rich and vibrant red velvet, giving the piece a striking yet refined presence. The sculptural yet understated design reflects the innovative spirit of Italian modernism of the late 1960s.
The sofa originates from the original private owners, who purchased it for their newly built bungalow in 1969. It has remained there ever since and is preserved in exceptionally well-kept original condition, which is increasingly rare for vintage modular upholstery pieces of this period.
The set consists of four lounge chair modules, three corner modules, and one ottoman, allowing for numerous flexible configurations. Each element can be placed freely, making the system adaptable to a variety of interiors and spatial concepts.
The velvet upholstery is beautifully preserved, with clean surfaces and no visible signs of wear. The seating remains comfortably firm and supportive, retaining its original structure and comfort.
Tito Agnoli (born 1931 in Peru) studied architecture in Milan before becoming one of the notable figures of post-war Italian design. He collaborated with several prestigious Italian manufacturers, and some of his works are part of the permanent collection of the Museum of Modern Art in New York.

The large Draenert Klassik 1022 coffee table shown in the images has accompanied the sofa since 1969 and can also be acquired separately upon request.
Since we deal in vintage furniture, signs of use are unavoidable and part of the nature of pre-owned items. We therefore only point out more significant marks or damages with separate pictures. Nevertheless, we always strive to capture the condition of the objects as accurately as possible to the best of our knowledge.
