An exceptional pair of Brazilian lounge chairs, entirely crafted from beautifully grained exotic solid wood, dating from the early 2000s.
According to the previous owner, the chairs were purchased in Brazil approximately 25 years ago and were originally intended for use in a commercial film production.
Clearly reminiscent of Sergio Rodrigues’ iconic Diz chair, these pieces nevertheless have a distinctive character of their own. Their sculptural proportions, beautifully shaped wooden seats and backrests, and particularly elegant, organically curved armrests reflect remarkable craftsmanship and attention to detail.
The warm tones and natural grain of the beautifully aged wood further emphasize their sculptural presence.
Exceptionally solid, remarkably heavy and surprisingly comfortable, this unusual pair combines Brazilian design influences with a character all its own.
