With her figures and masks, Katrin Geigenmüller creates three-dimensional objects that reference various mythological worlds and can be associated with magical realism.
A central feature of her artistic practice is the exploration of expressive surface structures.
Many of her ceramic pieces are created using smoke firing, raku, or pit firing techniques. Their subtle coloration results from slips, pigments, and smoke traces, often enhanced with elements of wood, metal, or horn.
