Very elegantly designed sofa & armchair set made of high-quality smooth leather with delicate teak wood legs by Ejnar Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen, Denmark, 1960s.
Ejnar Larsen and Aksel Bender Madsen were trained upholsterers and carpenters who met under the leading Danish designer Kaare Klint at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts.
From this encounter, a lifelong friendship developed. In 1947, they began creating designs together. Afterward, they exhibited furniture pieces every year at the annual exhibition of the Copenhagen Joiners’ Guild.
Solid, heavy, and very comfortable for sitting.
